63 years ago today… over 1 million americans and british w/ the help of a lot of other nations began the final push to defeat the horrors of Hilter.  The death toll on just Omaha beach was in excess of 2,000 in just 4 hours of fighting. Brave young men ran from boats and jumped from rickety aircraft to secure the future of the world. Today, there are young men and women far from home doing the same thing. Remember when your having a bad day… it could be worse.
If you see a solider today… thank him for your freedom.
so… i’ve been blogging for awhile and I have some on and off visitors to my site… but i haven’t received any comments, I chalked that up to me being a total dufas and only stating the obivious… no need to comment right? Well guess what… I post a picture of a hot girl on my blog, with a well “googled” name, and I get 4 emails and my first comment… haha… So I started looking for blogs and sites that are unrelated to “hot” chicks that have seen traffic pick up as a result of putting the pictures on their site… well I found www.swordfishingcentral.com, I don’t know what hot girls have to do with fishing… but hey it works… I’m thinkning that I should come out with the Agent Scoreboard Swimsuit calendar… what do you think?
Girl with a “Red Fin”
Not to be out done… girl with a “Property Shark”
Ok… ya I’m corny… but its interesting what makes the internet go.
well interestly enough Joel Burslem from Inman, posting on “future of real estate marketing” blog.. LINK has very accurately made the point i’ve been trying to convey to several of my “Brain Squad” (code for my advisory board)… check out below…
But the crux of the issue is this; one negative review on a site like Avvo could sink your entire practice, and if you weren’t listening - you’d be none the wiser
such an agent rating platform could weld god-like power over the industry’s participants. Even better yet!!! Such a database would be a “HUGE” barrier to entry, (SIZE OF THE SUN, HUGE) because not even Google and all of its techno-might could amass the data that quickly. Making the company that gets to that holy grail all the more valuable!!! Well thats just freaky…
Well you should… she is latest in a series of what the la times is calling “e-lebrities”. She has been on the cover of the Washington Post, featured in newspapers in london, madrid, paris, new york and los angeles. For what you ask? hmm well that is the speculation going on in the world. Ms. Stokke is very pretty and she is a tremendous athlete, but there are thousands of attractive, smart and athletic high school girls in the US, so what is with this “e-lebritie” phenomenon.Ms. Stokke is not alone in all this attention… over on YouTube Ysabella Brave had over 650,000 viewers on just one of her many videos.
Whats going on… seems like the public is looking for something more than the TV Industrial Machine can give us. We are seeking to connect with real people like ourselves and make them our personal heros.
I think its interesting that otherwise ordinary people are generating buzz because they choose to live their lives in the open on the internet. It reminds me of the buzz Glenn Kelman created when he took his fight with big real estate public on his blog. There is so much that is plastic, fake, spun, pr’d, and dumbed down that when someone genuine comes along we can’t get enough. I don’t think its a receipe for long term buzz but if you play your cards right it can lead to bigger things…
Anyone else found other e-lebrities? post them here…
A guy that I’ve played golf with a couple of times and attended some bears games with (a really fun guy) is as we speak climbing down off the summit of Mt Everest. It has taken them over 45 days to go 6 miles… its 6 miles UP…
That’s some really amazing shit…
Kind of reminds me of trying to change the real estate industry.
